We are very aware of the stance taken by Poudre School District the past two days. The Larimer County of Health says, βIn general, if you can see or smell smoke, it is recommended that you avoid outdoor physical activities. If visibility is decreased in your neighborhood to less than five miles, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.β
The forecast for this afternoon calls for gusty winds from the south/southwest. This could not be more favorable for Fort Collins air quality, since the fire is located northwest of the city. Winds are expected to change after 8:00/9:00 pm to non-favorable north/northeast.
Based on this information we plan on playing soccer tonight. Based on present conditions and the weather forecast, we feel the environment is going to be safe. If conditions change and are not favorable this evening, we will call things to a halt.
If you or your child suffers from respiratory illness, please do not feel any pressure to come out for soccer this evening. The same thing can be said if you feel uncomfortable about your family coming out tonight. Please let your coach know you are staying home.
At the time of this posting, the flag flying at CSU is pointing north and the only thing I smell outside are flowers.

We held a very successful FREE clinic to kickoff our recreational league! The training was provided to U5-U10 players by our staff coaches and competitive team coaches. It also served as a great opportunity for coaching education. Thanks to the players, families, and coaches who attended. See pictures of the event at our facebook page.
